The Golden bush robin (Tarsiger chrysaeus) is a species of songbird in the family Muscicapidae, found in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. It ranges across Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Tibet, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.
14–15 cm; 12–15 g. Male nominate race is brownish-olive from crown to back, broad bright orange-yellow supercilium, scapulars, rump to tail side and entire body golden yellow.
favorite diet Invertebrates, mainly insects. Forages on ground or in lower parts of shrubbery, often making short aerial sallies after flying prey.
Altitudinal migrant, probably with some short-distance winter dispersal. Winter visitor to NE India.
